It's Your Life

I guess I should get this over with before it rains

Before the Heavens open up again

My dear why I'm trying to say

Is that the sky's getting all the more grey

and no I didn't mean that as a metaphor or astounding implication

I'm just trying to bring you to a subtle realisation that

Even though it's your life

It still keeps others up at night my dear

So next time let me know before you call it quits

If it fails, I could help you deal with it

And if I don't hear from you again

Picture me out here still getting wet with my guitar

Staring at my sunflowers in the dark

Knowing that you've just about hit the mark of my pain threshold

And I really do not mean to be dramatic

It's just usually these leavings are kind of systematic

Even though it's your life

It still keeps others up at night my dear

So next time let me know before you call it quits

If it fails I could help you deal with it

And you didn't realise

It came as such a big surprise

Suddenly you'd up and gone it was

Like we'd done something wrong

Even though it's your life

It still keeps others up at night my dear

So next time let me know before you call it quits

If it fails, I could help you deal with it
